SASTE002 marks the second release in the Stellate Series: sounds gathered from the experimental frontiers and outer edges of electronic music. For each Stellate Series release two tracks are created by four different producers. Here, the resulting 8 tracks highlight four collaborations and chart the disparate sounds that gravitate at the far side of the periphery. Stellate 2 brings together the visions of Dadub, Silent Servant and Luis Farfan, Roll The Dice and Plaster: yet as diverse as the forms and textures that they use are, something intangible provides a sense of unity. Stellate 2 is preoccupied with the process of looping, using both digital and analogue tools to layer ideas, distort perceptions and filigree finely textured surfaces.

Look closely and you’ll see two moving objects in this footage. The most obvious one is a meteor however, more subtly in the middle towards the top right, there’s a small object moving slowly up and that is a fuselage of a Russian rocket breaking up in the upper atmosphere.

John E. Donald a.k.a. The Human Elephant está de visita por primera vez en México. Tras meses de promoción en Europa de White Thunder su más reciente LP publicado por Umor Rex Records, se encuentra en América para una serie de presentaciones en Estados Unidos y México.
The Human Elephant es una banda de Berlín liderada por John E. Donald en la que participan músicos como Bernd Jestram de Tarwater, Jasmina Maschina, Dirk Dresselhaus (Schneider TM), entre otros. Ha participado en varios sellos alemanes, y publicó un 7″ bajo Deli.kolder. Ha realizado colaboraciones con Sculpture (Dekorder Records), proyecto audivisual londinense y, al lado de Bernd Jestram, hace música como Rats Live On No Evil Star, cuyo último álbum fue publicado por Gustaff Records.
El trabajo de John Edward Donald es un amable recorrido entre post punk y folk. Su lírica es sencilla pero profunda: sentimientos grises difíciles de esquivar gracias a su instinto natural de supervivencia. Una propuesta brutalmente honesta, escasa en estos tiempos, sin maquillaje, misticismos falsos ni justificaciones más propias del performance que de la música.
John E. Donald se presentará este jueves 17 de mayo en la Terraza del Centro Cultural de España de la Ciudad de México y el sábado 19 de mayo en White Rabbit de León, Guanajuato, en un formato acústico con el que repasará sus composiciones más representativas, así como de su última producción.
